Le travail d’Oliver Pryce porte sur les comportements de production, d’échange et de consommation des métaux (Cu, Fe, Pb et Sn) en Asie du Sud-Est comme moyen de mieux comprendre les changements à long terme dans la complexité économique, politique et social de la région, ainsi que des interactions à longue portée avec les populations d’Asie du Sud et d’Asie de l’Est.
Il dirige la Mission française de fouille au Myanmar (Ministère des Affaires étrangères). Il est responsable de l’ANR BROGLASSEA, en cours. Enfin, il est responsable éditorial de la revue Bulletin of the Indo-Pacific Prehistory Association.
